Patio del Galápago

The courtyard known as the “Pozo” (Well) belonged to house number 3 on Vinagreros Street, incorporated into the complex in 1953. Like the “Santo Dios” courtyard, it retains some features of the traditional courtyard it once was.

In one corner of the courtyard, the old well that gives it its name discreetly opens, protected by a simple curb of iron bars, over which rises a simple arch from which a carriage hangs. The ironwork of the curb supports flowerpots and small gypsy fonts that cover their nakedness.

Ivy coexists with bougainvillea, jasmine, and a lemon tree, which climb the walls to the roof in eager search of light. In the corners of the courtyard, four lanterns provide the dim illumination of a typical alley at night.
