Patio del Galápago

Eight semicircular arches on Tuscan columns run along three sides of the Tortoiseshell Patio, the bright heart of the single-family home at Badanas 11, built in 1999. Its name is related to the ancient custom of keeping tortoiseshells in many Cordoba patios, for their usefulness in combating insects in the summer.

The galleries are lined with light blue pots of indoor plants, such as hanging ferns or ribbon ferns, and climbing plants such as plumbago and celestina, in white and violet varieties, are not lacking on one of the end walls.

This trapezoidal patio retains the domestic intimacy of when it belonged to a house inhabited by a family, an atmosphere emphasized by latticework and paneled doors.
