A wonderful natural setting just minutes from downtown Córdoba

Surrounded by farmhouses and dry land, Torre de la Barca is also located on the banks of the Guadalquivir, facing the blue wall of the Sierra Morena. A dream location, between the river and the countryside.

Celebrations can take place inside or outside the building, depending on the weather. If the weather is good, there are two spacious terraces at La Era and Quitapesares, offering views over Córdoba. There is also an open-air auditorium, the Teatro del Río, which can complete the celebrations.

The carriage house

This spacious room, with a gabled roof and sturdy wooden truss, is reminiscent of the barns and carriage houses of farmhouses, which were later the largest buildings after mills. Hence its name.

El mirador

All the rooms of Tower of la Barca open onto this covered gallery, known as The Viewpoint because of the splendid views from here of the Sierra Morena, the Guadalquivir River, and the city.

the era

From the Mirador we went down to The Era, which was a high, clear space in the farmhouses, open to the four winds, where the threshing and winnowing of the grain took place.

The mill

The Mill is the largest room in the house. Its size and decor evoke the olive oil mills of the Córdoba countryside, the largest buildings that existed in these agricultural regions during the pre-industrial era.

The haystack

The lounge, dominated by the hayloft that gives it its name, is decorated with tools and utensils that were essential for centuries in the daily life of the farmhouses of the Campiña de Córdoba.

The Labradores bar is the ideal place for a quiet conversation or a drink during any celebration.

quitapesares

In front of the Mill, overlooking the city, there is a double garden terrace called Quitapesares, in memory of a beautiful orchard of that name that once existed in the Sierra de Córdoba.
