Book in tower of la barca
lounges and open spaces
The viewpoint
All lounges in Tower of la Barca open onto this covered gallery, known as El Mirador (The Viewpoint) for the splendid views from here of the Sierra Morena, the Guadalquivir River, and the city. This porch features two identical courtyards, shaded by lemon trees, in the Cordoba tradition, named San Acisclo and Santa Victoria, after the city’s patron saints. Two white fountains, also twins, owe their design and tiling to the artist Tomás Egea, who is always present in the decoration and image of the house.
At each end of the Mirador (The Viewpoint), we can read, in tile mosaics, two affectionate dedications to Tower of la Barca from writers who were friends of the house: Antonio Gala and the poet Pablo García Baena.
The Mirador and the nearby La Era area are where the aperitifs are usually served during outdoor celebrations, when the weather is good. Also on rainy days, the porch is sheltered with transparent curtains that allow the view to continue.
