history and foundation
Cordoban tradition
Bodegas Campos de Córdoba opened its doors in 1908, dedicated to aging wines from the Montilla and Moriles vineyards. After a laborious journey, they are today a culinary and cultural landmark in the city, characterized by their defense of popular traditions.
A short walk from the Cathedral, they are nestled in the Axerquía district, the most industrial area of Córdoba since Moorish times (mainly silversmithing and tanning). In the 19th century, it was the city’s commercial center and is now a World Heritage Site.
Its interior, open to the public since 1964, is made up of an interesting collection of old Cordoban houses and courtyards from various eras, preserved with the care and simplicity that are the House’s emblem.
It houses an extensive collection of old fair and bullfighting posters, and the illustrious signatures on its oak casks bear witness to the passage of celebrities from both Spain and abroad through this winery: the Royal Family, heads of state, flamenco artists, writers, bullfighters, and artists.
